From reed4delegate.com:Candidate Christopher S. Reed was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. He comes from a family with a long history of public service across generations and professions. That legacy has shaped how he sees his role in the community and inspired him from an early age to work toward improving the state he calls home. His great-great-great-grandfather, Edwin, served as an astronomer with the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey and contributed to surveying and mapping the Alaska-Canada border. Edwin was also a cofounder of both the National Geographic Society, and the Cosmos Club. His great-great-grandfather, Harold, served as Treasurer of the Rockville Chamber of Commerce and was later appointed as a judge by Maryland Governor Harry Nice. Harold also ran for the United States House of Representatives, reflecting a deep and lasting commitment to civic life.
